What counts as a bundle
This collection covers quantity break selectors (1/2/3-pack tiles), bundle builders, BOGO offers, 'Frequently Bought Together' add-ons, and links that send shoppers to bundles. Some tests changed bundles as part of a wider page redesign, which are flagged below.
The win/loss record
22 wins and 1 loss. Two results cut against the idea that more bundle options always help: one win came from removing a bundle selector, and the loss came from reframing an offer that was already there.
Where bundles were tested
- Product page: 19 tests
- Site-wide: 2 tests
- Landing page and other: 1 test each

Presentation changes to an existing selector
These are the cleanest tests, because the offer stayed the same:
- Dave Diederen, 'You're saving $X' line: +11.26% CVR, +12.53% RPV, +1.14% AOV
- Dave Diederen, compact bundle buy box: +10.74% CVR, +10.77% RPV, +$168,850/month est.
- Elevate A/B Testing, biggest pack listed first: RPV €3.54 to €3.84 (+8.47%)
- Dave Diederen, confetti and 'biggest savings unlocked' on the largest bundle: +5.47% CVR, +6.32% RPV
- Dave Diederen, selector title changed to 'Low Stock - Selling Fast': +2.32% CVR, +4.82% RPV

Bundle builders and redesigned selectors
Dave Diederen's bundle builder with quantity and subscribe-and-save steps is the largest result: +85.04% CVR and +104.06% RPV. A simpler bundle builder gained +7.26% CVR and +$13,011/month.
Dave's selector that asks who it's for, then shows per-day pricing lowered conversion by 5.22% but raised RPV +9.45% and AOV +15.48%. It is a good reminder to judge bundle tests on revenue, not conversion alone.
Adding bundles where there were none
- Oliver Kenyon, bundle options on the product page: +$182k monthly revenue
- Oliver Kenyon, 3-pack with Save 20% above Add to Cart: +$52,820/month
- Alex Stoykov, one-click 'Frequently Bought Together' bundle: +10.87% RPV, +8.09% CVR
- Kasper Dolk, custom selector emphasising '3 for X': +43.75% revenue per session
Tests that lost or cut against the pattern
Milos's 'Buy 2 Get 1 Free' at the same price lost badly: -51.36% CVR, -52.38% RPV, -54.01% profit per visitor (-$104,679/month). The price did not change, only the framing, so the wording of a deal can matter a great deal.
Oliver Kenyon removed a 1/2/3-bag selector and won: +8.7% CVR, +7.8% RPV, AOV unchanged (+€38k/month). On that store, the selector added friction without raising order value.
Bundled tests to read with care
Kasper Dolk's new theme with a BOGO offer (+44.54% CVR) and Milos's product page redesign with bundles (+81% CVR) changed many things at once. Dave Diederen's BOGO for a deal-driven audience reported +25% AOV over a weekend only.
Design patterns that won
- State the saving in money, on the selector.
- List the biggest pack first.
- Keep the bundle buy box compact.
- Show per-day or per-unit pricing for supply-based products.
- Use steps (quantity, then subscription) for complex offers.
How to add bundles on Shopify
Quantity breaks and bundle builders usually come from a bundle app or a custom theme block on the product template. Check that the app's discount logic matches the savings shown, since the winning tests relied on clear savings copy.
How to test it on your store
Hypothesis: adding a money-saved line to the bundle selector will raise revenue per visitor. Use RPV as the main metric, since bundle tests can lower conversion while raising AOV. If you test a new deal framing, watch for a drop like the -52.38% loss. Size it with the sample size calculator.
Questions
Do product bundles increase conversions?
In this archive, 22 of 23 bundle tests won. Dave Diederen's bundle builder with quantity and subscribe-and-save steps gained +85.04% conversion rate. But Oliver Kenyon also won by removing a 1/2/3-bag selector (+8.7% conversion rate).
Is Buy 2 Get 1 Free better than a 2-pack discount?
Not in the one test here. Milos changed a 2-pack offer to 'Buy 2 Get 1 Free' at the same price and lost -52.38% revenue per visitor (-$104,679/month).
How should I order quantity break options?
Elevate A/B Testing listed the biggest pack first and revenue per visitor rose from €3.54 to €3.84 (+8.47%). Pair that with a clear savings line, which gained Dave Diederen +11.26% conversion rate.
