Best Shopify Page Builders for Conversion

The best Shopify page builder for conversion is the one that lets you build a variant fast and then test it. For most stores that means PageFly or GemPages (with GemX for testing), while Replo and Shogun fit larger teams with bigger budgets. Once a page wins, rebuilding it in native theme sections is often worth it: in one test, Oliver Kenyon found the native version beat the identical builder version.

Below we compare the four main apps using vendor pricing pages, Shopify App Store listings and public reviews. We have not used these tools ourselves. We also link real A/B tests from the LiftArchive database so you can see what kinds of page changes actually moved revenue.

PageFly

PageFly is a drag-and-drop builder with a large template library, AI page generation and, on mid-tier plans, A/B testing and heatmaps. Its App Store listing shows a 4.9 rating from 5,918 reviews.

As of November 2026, PageFly's pricing page lists a free plan with 1 published page, a Builder plan from $24/month, and Optimize from $39/month, which adds 3 A/B tests and heatmaps on 10 pages. Accelerate ($99/month) raises that to 10 tests, and Power ($199/month) makes both unlimited.

Downsides: Builder and Optimize are slider plans, so the price rises with the number of page slots you need. Testing is not on the Builder plan. PageFly's help docs warn that choosing "Remove all data" when uninstalling leaves PageFly pages blank, so leaving the app takes planning.

Not for: stores that only need one or two pages and plan to test with a separate tool, or teams that want full control of the code.

If you are choosing between the two biggest names, our PageFly vs GemPages comparison goes deeper.

GemPages (and GemX for testing)

GemPages is a drag-and-drop builder with 400+ prebuilt sections, sales funnels and post-purchase upsells. It carries the Built for Shopify badge and a 4.9 rating from 4,271 reviews on its App Store listing.

As of November 2026, GemPages pricing runs from a free plan (1 published page) to Build at $29/month with unlimited pages, Optimize at $59/month and Enterprise at $199/month. The pricing page notes that yearly plans are no longer offered to new customers.

Testing lives in a separate app, GemX: CRO & A/B Testing, launched in September 2024. Its Page Optimize plan costs $49/month for 10 live experiments on templates, and Funnel Optimize runs $99 to $699/month depending on store revenue, with unlimited and multi-page tests. GemX also works with pages built in PageFly, Replo, Shogun and Zipify.

Downsides: building plus testing means paying for two apps. GemX had only 27 reviews when we checked, so there is less public feedback on it than on the builder. GemPages' help center says uninstalling can break live pages, and recommends downgrading to the free plan instead.

Not for: stores that want one bill for building and testing, or that already pay for a full testing tool (see our list of Shopify A/B testing apps).

Replo

Replo focuses on landing pages for paid traffic, with 1,000+ templates, AI page generation, custom code and A/B testing. It is Built for Shopify certified and holds a 4.7 rating from 186 reviews on its App Store listing.

As of November 2026, that listing shows a free plan for previews only (no publishing), Starter at $119/month with 15 published items, and Pro at $599/month with unlimited pages and up to 5 stores. Annual billing saves 17%, per the same listing and Replo's pricing page.

Downsides: it is the most expensive entry point here, and you cannot publish anything for free. It has far fewer public reviews than PageFly or GemPages.

Not for: small stores testing their first landing page, or stores that mostly want to edit product and collection templates. Our Replo vs PageFly breakdown covers the trade-off in more detail.

Landing pages are where builders earn their keep. Oliver Kenyon tested new listicle landing pages against the homepage and saw +57% revenue and +54% conversion rate over 22 days. Dave Diederen moved a week-by-week results timeline higher up a listicle page and got +24.36% conversion rate, the kind of section reorder a builder makes quick.

Shogun

Shogun is a visual builder for product, collection, landing and blog pages, with reusable sections, content scheduling and custom code. It works on both Shopify and BigCommerce, and its App Store listing shows a 4.8 rating from 1,974 reviews.

As of November 2026, Shogun's pricing page lists a free Draft Mode (no published pages), Build at $39/month for 25 published pages, Grow at $199/month with unlimited pages, and Advanced at $499/month with multi-store content syncing. Annual billing saves 20%.

All paid plans include A/B testing and personalization, but they are capped by monthly tracked users: shoppers who see a page with an active test. Build and the free plan allow up to 2,000, Grow 10,000 and Advanced 50,000.

Downsides: a 2,000-shopper testing cap on Build is too small for a reliable test on most stores, so serious testing starts at $199/month.

Not for: small stores on a tight budget, or anyone who wants unlimited testing traffic at an entry price.

Native theme sections

Every Online Store 2.0 theme lets you add, remove and reorder sections on JSON templates, including product pages. Shopify's developer docs cap this at 25 sections per template and 50 blocks per section, which is plenty for most pages.

Native sections cost nothing extra and add no app code. The trade-off is flexibility: custom layouts usually need a developer who writes Liquid, so each new variant takes longer to build.

Plenty of winning tests in our database are plain section changes. Dave Diederen added new sections under the add-to-cart button on a product page and saw +14.19% conversion rate. For more ideas on product templates, see our guide to product page design.

Speed impact

Page builders add their own code to your storefront, and that can slow pages down. Shopify's Built for Shopify requirements say an app must not lower the storefront Lighthouse performance score by more than ten points. GemPages, Replo and Shogun's listings show that badge or Shopify's performance certification, but ten points is still a real cost.

The clearest evidence comes from our database. Oliver Kenyon rebuilt a winning landing page natively in Shopify and tested it against the exact same page in a page builder: same copy, images, structure and offer. The native build won with +9.9% conversion rate, +20.9% revenue per visitor and +10.0% average order value.

Oliver Kenyon's advice from that test: builders are great for speed, testing and iteration, but once you have found a winner, move it into Shopify natively.

The build platform matters on other stacks too. Peter Christensen moved a $600+ order value offer from SamCart to a PageDeck landing page and saw +20% conversion rate. Kasper Dolk's team tested a new Shopify theme with a BOGO offer against the old theme and saw conversion rate go from 2.44% to 3.53% (+44.54%), though the offer changed too, so speed was not the only factor.

Pick by use case

The design of the page matters more than the tool. Milos rebuilt a best-seller product page and saw +128.46% revenue per visitor and +71.18% conversion rate. Josh Thompson tested a new page design against the existing page and got +137.26% conversion rate. Kasper Dolk credits an 8-section long-form landing page flow with a 259.7% increase in revenue with no extra ad spend.

With that in mind, here is how to choose:

  • First landing page, small budget: PageFly or GemPages on a low tier. Both have free plans to try the editor.
  • Builder and testing in one app: PageFly from the Optimize plan, or Shogun Grow if your testing traffic is above 2,000 shoppers a month.
  • A dedicated testing tool that works across builders: GemPages plus GemX, or any builder plus a separate testing app.
  • Many paid-traffic landing pages: Replo, if the $119/month entry price fits. Compare more options in our Shopify landing page builders roundup.
  • Multi-store or BigCommerce: Shogun Advanced or Replo Pro.
  • Pages that already won a test: rebuild them in native theme sections to remove app code, then confirm with a fresh test.

Questions

What is the best page builder for Shopify?

For most stores, PageFly or GemPages: both have free plans, high App Store ratings and low entry prices. PageFly includes A/B testing from its Optimize plan, while GemPages pairs with the separate GemX app for testing. Replo and Shogun suit larger brands with bigger budgets.

Do Shopify page builder apps slow down my store?

They can. Shopify's Built for Shopify standard allows an app to lower the storefront Lighthouse score by up to ten points. In one LiftArchive test, Oliver Kenyon's native Shopify rebuild of a page beat the identical page-builder version by +9.9% conversion rate and +20.9% revenue per visitor.

Can I build a Shopify product page without a page builder app?

Yes. Online Store 2.0 themes let you add, remove and reorder sections on product templates, up to 25 sections per template and 50 blocks per section. Custom layouts beyond your theme's sections usually need a developer who writes Liquid.

Which Shopify page builder has built-in A/B testing?

PageFly (Optimize plan and up), Replo (paid plans) and Shogun (paid plans, capped by monthly tracked users) all include A/B testing. GemPages offers testing through its separate GemX app, which also works with pages built in PageFly, Replo, Shogun and Zipify.

What happens to my pages if I uninstall a page builder?

Pages can break. PageFly's docs say choosing to remove all data leaves its pages blank, and GemPages' help center says uninstalling can cause display issues and suggests downgrading to the free plan instead. Rebuild important pages natively before you leave a builder.
