A/B Testing Agencies and Consultants

A/B testing services are agencies and consultants who research why visitors don't buy, turn that into test ideas, then build, run and report the experiments for you.

An agency gives you a full team (strategist, designer, developer, analyst).

A consultant gives you one senior person, usually at lower cost.

Every practitioner below has published real results in our database, so you can see their tests before you book a call.

We list what each practitioner has published and what their own site says they offer.

We don't rank them, and we haven't audited their client work.

A/B testing agencies

Pick an agency when you want testing done for you end to end and you have the traffic to run several tests a month.

Check your numbers first with the sample size calculator.

If a single test would take months, start with a CRO audit instead.

Oliver Kenyon, Conversionwise (featured)

Oliver Kenyon co-founded Conversionwise and has 13 years in ecommerce CRO.

The Conversionwise site lists landing page and funnel builds, ongoing CRO testing, full website redesigns, Shopify development, post-click audits and strategy workshops.

It says the team can slot into an in-house team or act as your full team, and claims 4,000+ brands served since 2013.

Oliver has shared 100 tests with LiftArchive. A few examples:

Kasper Dolk, Maison Commerce

Kasper Dolk runs Maison Commerce, a CRO agency for Shopify brands.

Its site lists custom themes, landing pages, product pages and ongoing A/B testing, with four to six tests per month across the funnel.

In one of Kasper's tests, showing a testimonial lifted revenue per visitor by 7.10% (€5.36 to €5.74).

Peter Christensen, Scaling CRO

Peter Christensen's Scaling.co sells a system that ties customer research, ad messaging, landing pages, on-site testing and post-purchase offers into one roadmap, aimed at established Shopify and DTC brands.

The site claims a 41% test win rate.

In our database, Peter reordered homepage sections based on scroll maps for +12.64% conversion rate.

Ruben, Tailored Commerce

Tailored Commerce is a small Shopify CRO agency.

Its site says contracts run month to month with 30 days' notice, first tests go live within a week, and a research report and testing roadmap follow within 30 days.

It asks for Shopify or Shopify Plus brands willing to invest four figures.

Ruben publishes mixed results, which is useful. A countdown timer tested across several brands gave about +10% conversion rate on a low-priced brand but didn't hold up across the others.

Dave Diederen, Syntra Labs

Syntra Labs works on a subscription model: you submit requests for A/B tests, designs and Shopify development, and the site quotes an average design turnaround of 72 business hours.

Dave Diederen has 162 tests in our archive, including losers such as customer profile icons next to the star rating, which cost -3.84% revenue per visitor.

Alex Stoykov, Olifant Digital

Olifant Digital is a full-service Amazon and ecommerce marketing agency, so testing is one part of a wider service.

Its site offers a refund of management fees if performance doesn't improve in 60 days.

Alex Stoykov shared a one-click Frequently Bought Together bundle near add to cart that lifted revenue per visitor by 10.87%.

A/B testing consultants

A consultant suits stores that want senior judgment without paying for a full team.

They usually own research, prioritization and analysis, and may build tests themselves or hand them to your developer.

Our CRO consultants page covers the consultant-vs-agency choice in more depth, and CRO pricing covers typical rates.

Milos

Milos does CRO for stores doing $200k to $1M a month and takes enquiries on X.

Milos rebuilt a best-seller product page for +128.46% revenue per visitor, and also published a clear loss: changing a 2-pack offer to Buy 2 Get 1 Free at the same price cut revenue per visitor by 52.38%.

Josh Thompson

Josh Thompson works with 7- and 8-figure ecommerce brands.

Josh tested a new page design against the existing page in Intelligems for +175.64% revenue per visitor.

Treat a full redesign result like that as one data point: it tells you the new page won, not which change did it.

What to ask any agency or consultant

  • Show me your losses. Most tests don't win. Clean Commit publishes its full library, and of its 173 tests in our database, 16 won, 35 lost and 122 were flat. A shortlist of winners on a sales page tells you little about the hit rate.
  • Who builds the tests? Ask whether design, development and QA are in-house or on you.
  • What is the primary metric? Revenue per visitor or conversion rate, agreed before each test starts.
  • How do you decide a test is done? A fixed sample size or a stated stopping rule, not "when it looks good". See how long to run an A/B test.
  • Who owns the data and the learnings? You should keep every result if you part ways.

Questions

What do A/B testing services include?

Most cover research (analytics, heatmaps, surveys), a prioritized list of test ideas, design and build of each variant, running the test to a planned sample size, and a written report.

Some agencies also build landing pages, themes or full redesigns.

Should I hire an A/B testing agency or a consultant?

Hire an agency if you have the traffic for several tests a month and no in-house designer or developer.

Hire a consultant if you want senior strategy and analysis and can build tests yourself, or if your budget is smaller.

How do I check an A/B testing agency's track record?

Ask for losing and flat tests as well as winners, with the metric and sample size for each.

Every practitioner on this page has published results on LiftArchive, so you can review their tests before a call.

Does an A/B testing agency need a lot of traffic to help?

Yes, for ongoing testing. If a test on your key page would take months to reach the planned sample size, an audit or a redesign based on research is usually a better first step than a testing retainer.
