Website Personalization Tools (and What Tests Show)

The website personalization tools worth paying for in 2026 are Wingify (the merged VWO and AB Tasty) for mid-market teams, Optimizely or Adobe Target for enterprises, and Rebuy or Nosto for ecommerce product recommendations.

Personalization can lift conversions, but the tests in our database show the gains come from a few clear segments (new vs returning visitors, location, traffic source, purchase intent), and many personalized experiences end up flat.

So pick a tool that can measure each personalized experience against a control group, not just publish it.

Below we go through what each tool does according to its own docs, what it costs where prices are public, and which real tests show the kind of work it supports.

Disclosure: we may earn a commission if you sign up for Wingify (VWO) or Rebuy through our links. That doesn't change what we say about them. See our disclosure.

What personalization means: rules, segments and AI

Website personalization means showing different visitors different content on the same URL. Most tools offer three levels of it.

  • Rule-based: you write the rule. "If the visitor is in Canada, show prices in CAD." "If they came from the pricing ad, show the pricing headline."
  • Segment-based: you build audiences from behavior, CRM data or firmographics and give each one its own experience, such as new vs returning visitors or enterprise vs small business accounts.
  • AI or algorithmic: the tool decides what each visitor sees, usually product recommendations or picking the best offer for each person.

Personalization is still a hypothesis until you test it.

A personalized homepage that "feels" relevant can do nothing, so the useful tools let you keep a control group for each segment.

Write each personalization idea as a hypothesis you can test.

VWO Personalize (now part of Wingify)

VWO and AB Tasty merged in 2026 and now trade as Wingify.

Per Wingify's July 2026 announcement, both run inside app.wingify.com, "each still functions as its own suite" while the engineering is merged step by step, and existing contracts and pricing are unchanged.

The Wingify personalization page lists targeting by behavior (scroll depth, time on page, clicks), device, location, referral source, uploaded lists and CRM data, plus integrations with CRM and ABM tools such as HubSpot and Salesforce.

Reports show results for each audience, not only the campaign overall.

Its AI layer, Wingz AI, ranks and generates personalization options.

The kind of test this supports: VWO published a test where showing country-specific customer logos on trial and demo pages brought +376% leads.

That's a simple geo rule, and a good first personalization to try.

Pricing: as of November 2026, the Wingify pricing page shows Growth, Pro and Enterprise tiers for Web Personalization but no dollar amounts, so you'll need a quote.

A 30-day free trial is offered with no credit card.

Downsides: the merger means the product and pricing pages are in flux, and you can't compare costs without talking to sales.

Not for: teams with very low traffic, since segment-level results need volume. See our VWO review.

AB Tasty

AB Tasty is the other half of Wingify.

Its strength, per the same Wingify post, was behavior-based targeting: Emotions AI "reads on-site behavior to gauge a visitor's emotional state," and the suite includes dynamic content, product recommendations and audience segmentation.

AB Tasty's published case studies show how this gets used.

A North American insurer ran a segment-tailored pop-in for lingering visitors (+55.18% kit submits) and a quote reminder widget for returning abandoners (+23.47% submissions).

Bricomarché's AI product recommendations rollout was credited with +21% homepage conversion, though that was a before-and-after comparison, not a controlled A/B test.

Pricing: abtasty.com/pricing now redirects to the Wingify pricing page, which lists no prices as of November 2026.

Downsides and who it's not for: like VWO, it's a quote-based platform, so it's a poor fit for small stores that want a self-serve monthly plan. For more, read our AB Tasty review.

Optimizely and Adobe Target (enterprise)

Optimizely Personalization is sold as part of Optimizely's experimentation suite.

The product page lists content and product recommendations, behavior-triggered offers, geo-targeting with localized content and currency, segments based on account type, role and purchasing patterns, and AI agents that suggest hypotheses and build variations from a prompt. Pricing isn't published; you contact sales.

Optimizely's own published tests show the recommendation side well: a retailer's personalized homepage recommendations brought +136% clicks to product pages, and showing bestsellers instead of featured picks for new visitors brought +23.01% CTR. Note that both measure clicks, not revenue.

Adobe Target has two editions. Per Adobe's docs, Standard covers A/B tests, Auto-Allocate, multivariate tests and rule-based Experience Targeting.

Auto-Target, Automated Personalization (machine-learning matching of offers to each visitor) and Recommendations need Target Premium.

Adobe gives custom pricing only, based partly on how many digital properties use it.

Downsides: both are expensive enterprise contracts that work best with developer support and an analytics team.

Not for: small teams or Shopify stores, which get more from the ecommerce tools below.

Mutiny and B2B website personalization

If you searched for "Mutiny HQ" or "Mutiny pricing" for B2B website personalization, note that Mutiny no longer sells that product.

Mutiny's own company info page says website personalization "was the company's earlier product and no longer reflects what Mutiny is."

In 2026 it relaunched as an AI agent for go-to-market teams that drafts sales assets like business cases, deal rooms and ABM campaign pages.

For the new product, the Mutiny pricing page lists, as of November 2026, a Free plan ($0, up to 5 team members), Business at $50/month, and Enterprise starting at $40,000/year.

Those prices are for the AI agent, not on-site personalization.

For B2B on-site personalization today, look at Wingify, which integrates with CRM and ABM tools such as HubSpot and Salesforce, or Optimizely, which segments by account type and role.

Dedicated ABM vendors such as 6sense, Demandbase and Abmatic also sell website personalization; we haven't checked their current plans.

B2B tests in our database show which segments tend to be worth personalizing.

Abila's homepage banner personalized by segment reported +171% time on site (before-and-after, not a controlled test).

A healthcare site's persona paths on the homepage, tested by MarketingExperiments, brought +52% clickthrough.

Ecommerce personalization software: Rebuy and Nosto

For most online stores, "personalization" in practice means product recommendations, cart upsells and search. Two tools lead here.

Rebuy

Rebuy is built only for Shopify, Shopify Plus and Hydrogen.

It offers AI product recommendations, Smart Cart, checkout and post-purchase offers, search, Smart Flows and A/B testing.

As of November 2026, its pricing page lists a "Build Your Own" plan from $25/month for one package, with prices scaling by monthly orders, a Platform One bundle of all four packages, and a 14-day free trial.

Blend Commerce has tested Rebuy directly. At Stone Creek Coffee, Rebuy recommendations vs Shopify's native ones brought +23% conversion rate.

At Fame on Central, the Rebuy Smart Cart with fuller recommendations brought +13% RPV.

But product recommendations in checkout were +2% conversion and inconclusive, so placement matters as much as the tool.

Not for: stores on any platform other than Shopify.

Nosto

Nosto covers personalized search, category merchandising, product recommendations, dynamic bundles, content personalization, behavioral pop-ups and A/B testing.

It works with Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce and Shopware.

There are no public prices: you book a demo and get a quote based on GMV and traffic, plus a platform fee.

Not for: small stores that want to self-serve.

Its multi-platform support is the main reason to choose it over Rebuy.

What the tests in our database show about personalization

We have dozens of personalization tests across ecommerce, SaaS and lead-gen. Three patterns stand out.

1. Simple rules often beat complex AI. Location rules are cheap to build and keep showing up as winners.

Dave Diederen's geo-detection popup asking international visitors to confirm country and currency brought +13.01% revenue per visitor.

Humana's local landmark in the homepage banner brought +31% clickthrough.

2. New vs returning visitors is the most useful split, but results vary. Great Jones' streamlined mobile homepage for new visitors won with +26.2% revenue per visitor.

Clean Commit's homepage tailored to new vs returning visitors showed +241% CR but couldn't prove it, and its personalized product pages were flat at +1.0% CR.

A big number on a small segment is often noise; check statistical significance for each segment.

3. Recommendations work when they're well placed. Visually's product recs slider for returning visitors at Branch brought +8.9% conversion rate, and the Rebuy tests above show the same pattern in the cart.

The practical takeaway: before you buy a personalization platform, find out which segments behave differently.

Session replays, surveys and analytics split by segment will tell you (see customer research for CRO).

Then test one personalized experience per segment against a control.

If your main goal is testing rather than personalization, our A/B testing tools roundup covers cheaper options.

Questions

What are the best website personalization tools?

For mid-market teams, Wingify (the merged VWO and AB Tasty).

For enterprises, Optimizely Personalization or Adobe Target Premium.

For ecommerce recommendations, Rebuy on Shopify or Nosto on other platforms.

Pick one that lets you measure each personalized experience against a control group.

Does website personalization increase conversions?

Often, but not always. In our database, simple rules like geo-targeted currency (+13.01% revenue per visitor) and new-visitor homepages (+26.2% revenue per visitor at Great Jones) won, while several personalized product pages and homepages were flat or unproven. Test each segment against a control.

What is the best ecommerce personalization software?

On Shopify, Rebuy is the common choice for AI recommendations and Smart Cart, from $25/month per package as of November 2026. Nosto supports Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce and Shopware, with custom quotes based on GMV and traffic.

Is Mutiny still a B2B website personalization tool?

No. Mutiny says website personalization was its earlier product and relaunched in 2026 as an AI agent for go-to-market teams.

For B2B on-site personalization, look at Wingify (CRM and ABM integrations such as HubSpot and Salesforce) or Optimizely, or a dedicated ABM vendor.

How much does Mutiny cost?

As of November 2026, Mutiny lists a Free plan, a Business plan at $50/month and Enterprise from $40,000/year.

These prices are for its AI agent product, not website personalization.
