Shoplift Alternatives for Shopify A/B Tests

The best Shoplift alternatives for a Shopify store are Elevate and ABConvert if you want theme tests plus price and shipping tests for less money, Intelligems if price, shipping and profit come first, GemX if you build pages in GemPages, and Convert if you also test sites outside Shopify.

Shoplift is still a strong pick for theme and template tests, so switch only if its visitor-based pricing or its plan limits get in your way.

We have not used these apps ourselves. This comparison is based on each vendor's pricing page, docs and Shopify App Store listing, checked in November 2026, plus real tests from our database of A/B test results that show what each kind of test can find.

What Shoplift does best: theme and template tests without code

Shoplift is a Shopify-only app. You duplicate a template or a whole theme, edit it in the Shopify theme editor, and Shoplift splits traffic between the two.

Its docs say theme tests suit site-wide changes such as "navigation menus, mini carts/cart drawers, new apps, or entirely new themes" (Shoplift docs).

That is a real strength, because theme changes can move revenue a lot.

Kasper Dolk tested a new theme with a BOGO offer against the old theme and saw revenue per visitor rise +41.85% (£1.08 to £1.54).

Oliver Kenyon ran a full theme test of the homepage, collections, menu and subscriptions for a skincare brand, worth +£281,417 in annual revenue.

So why look elsewhere? As of November 2026, Shoplift's pricing page lists three things that push stores to compare:

  • Visitor caps: Core covers up to 50,000 monthly visitors, Advanced up to 100,000 and Pro (from $699/month, annual only) up to 250,000. These count total store visitors, not just the ones in a test.
  • Price tests cost more: price, subscription and personalization tests start on Advanced at $399/month, or $299/month billed annually.
  • No built-in shipping module: Shoplift's shipping threshold guide has you write a custom Shopify Function, which is developer work.

If none of those affect you, Shoplift may already be the right tool. Our Shoplift review covers it in full.

Intelligems: the alternative for price, shipping and profit tests

Intelligems is the alternative most Shopify teams weigh first.

It prices by monthly orders, with no per-visitor fees, and sells modules for content, merchandising, pricing, shipping and checkout.

As of November 2026, Build Your Own plans start at $69/month, and the Unlimited plan costs $1,279/month billed annually with a 3-month minimum (Intelligems pricing).

The 14-day free trial covers every module except Smart Pricing, which needs a paid plan.

Bundle discounts run from 5% for two modules to 15% for four or more.

Its edge is profit reporting on price and shipping tests.

Dave Diederen tested shipping price levels and found a $9.49 fee beat the control, for +43.81% revenue per visitor.

That kind of test is native in Intelligems and custom work in Shoplift.

Content tests work too: Josh Thompson ran a new page design against the existing page in Intelligems and measured +175.64% revenue per visitor.

Not for: stores that only want theme tests, or small stores that would pay for modules they won't use. See Intelligems vs Shoplift for the head-to-head.

GemX: page and funnel tests for GemPages stores

GemX is the A/B testing app from GemPages' developer.

It runs template tests (one page template against another) and multipage tests, where each visitor stays in Group A or Group B across a set of templates such as homepage, collection and product page (GemX docs).

As of November 2026, the App Store listing shows Page Optimize at $49/month for 10 live experiments, and Funnel Optimize from $99 to $699/month, scaled by store revenue, with unlimited experiments and multipage tests. Both plans have a 14-day free trial.

The two sources also disagree on price tests: GemX's pricing page lists product price testing, while the App Store plan list doesn't.

If price testing is your reason for leaving Shoplift, confirm it works for your products before you commit.

GemX fits whole-page swaps. Milos rebuilt a best-seller product page and measured +128.46% revenue per visitor, the kind of before-and-after page a template test compares.

Keep the build method in mind: Oliver Kenyon rebuilt a landing page natively in Shopify against the same page in a page builder and saw +20.9% revenue per visitor.

Page-builder pages are not automatically faster or better.

Not for: stores that don't use a page builder, or that need shipping and checkout tests.

The listing also has only 27 reviews, a short track record next to Shoplift.

GemPages has an affiliate program, so LiftArchive may earn a commission if you sign up through our link. Read our GemX review for setup details.

ABConvert: broad test types, priced by test orders

ABConvert covers more test types than Shoplift on its entry plan.

As of November 2026, every plan includes visual editor, URL redirect, template, theme, shipping, checkout and offer tests, and price tests start on Growth (ABConvert pricing).

  • Starter: $99/month for 1,000 test orders, then $59 per extra 1,000
  • Growth: $199/month for 5,000 test orders, then $39 per extra 1,000
  • Scale: $399/month for 15,000 test orders; Pro: $599/month for 30,000

You pay for orders from visitors placed in a test, not for total store traffic.

A store with lots of visitors but modest order volume may pay less than on Shoplift.

A store with many small orders should estimate its test orders first.

ABConvert publishes price test results from its customers.

A puzzle store's 10% price increase on selected products produced +6% AOV and +10% revenue.

The same kind of test can also lose: at Levain Bakery, a large price increase cut revenue per visitor.

Not for: stores with very high order counts on tight budgets, or stores whose subscription setup the price tests don't support. See our ABConvert review.

Elevate: the closest like-for-like swap at a lower price

Elevate is the most direct answer to "Shoplift vs Elevate."

Both are Shopify-only, no-code apps for theme, template and URL split tests with Bayesian stats.

The differences are price and what the lower tiers include.

As of November 2026, Elevate's pricing page lists Basic at $49/month (theme, template and split URL tests, visual editor, custom goals), Standard at $99/month (adds price, subscription price, shipping rate, product image and checkout tests) and Premium at $499/month (account manager, roadmap, multi-currency price tests).

Pricing scales with monthly orders, and yearly billing saves 40%.

The App Store listing shows a 4.9-star rating from 145 reviews, a Built for Shopify badge, profit metrics from your own cost of goods, and a launch date of December 2020. In short, Elevate's Standard plan includes price and shipping tests for $99/month, against $399/month ($299 billed annually) for Shoplift Advanced.

Elevate publishes customer results, several of which are in our database.

Elevate A/B Testing listed the biggest pack first in a bundle selector and saw revenue per visitor go from €3.54 to €3.84 (+8.47%).

Moving the second product photo into first position lifted revenue per visitor from £3.32 to £3.60.

Price tests show why profit metrics matter. A 30% price cut doubled conversion rate (2x), while a $5 price cut on a bottle brought more orders but lower profit per visitor.

Judge price tests on profit, not conversion rate.

Not for: teams that want a long list of independent reviews and comparisons before buying.

Elevate is smaller and less covered than Shoplift or Intelligems, and most of its public results come from Elevate itself.

Convert: when you test more than one Shopify store

Convert is a general A/B testing platform, not a Shopify app.

As of November 2026, Growth costs $399/month, or $299/month billed annually, for 100,000 tested users a month, with a 15-day free trial and no credit card needed (Convert pricing).

The same page lists Shopify price testing, shipping testing and theme testing on all plans.

Convert counts only visitors who enter an experiment, so a high-traffic store that tests a few pages at a time can fit inside its quota where Shoplift's total-visitor cap would not.

It also works on non-Shopify sites, so one tool can cover a store, a blog and a landing page domain.

The trade-off is effort and cost. You build variants in Convert's editor or with code rather than in the Shopify theme editor, and the entry price is well above every Shopify-native app here.

Convert has an affiliate program, so LiftArchive may earn a commission if you sign up through our link. See our Convert review.

Pick by store size

Small stores (under about 50,000 monthly visitors): Elevate Basic or GemX Page Optimize at $49/month are the cheapest ways into theme or template testing.

Shoplift Core at $74/month billed annually is also in range.

With low traffic, test big changes such as a new theme or page design, since small tweaks rarely reach a clear result.

Growing stores that want price and shipping tests: Elevate Standard ($99/month), ABConvert Growth ($199/month) and Intelligems are cheaper routes to price tests than Shoplift Advanced.

Choose Intelligems if you want the deepest profit reporting and the most coverage from independent reviews.

High-traffic stores: Shoplift's visitor caps can get expensive past 100,000 monthly visitors.

Order-based pricing (Intelligems, Elevate, ABConvert) or tested-user pricing (Convert) usually scales more gently.

Price out your own numbers on each pricing page.

Multi-site teams: Convert, since it is the only tool here that runs beyond Shopify.

The tool matters less than the test ideas.

Questions

What are the best Shoplift alternatives?

Intelligems for price, shipping and profit tests; Elevate and ABConvert for theme plus price and shipping tests at lower cost; GemX for GemPages users testing pages and funnels; and Convert for teams testing Shopify alongside other sites.

Shoplift vs Elevate: which is better?

Both run no-code theme, template and URL tests on Shopify.

As of November 2026, Elevate starts at $49/month and includes price and shipping tests on its $99/month Standard plan, while Shoplift starts at $99/month and puts price tests on its Advanced plan ($399/month, or $299/month billed annually). Shoplift has a larger public track record.

How do you A/B test a Shopify theme?

Duplicate your live theme, make your changes in the copy, and use a theme testing app such as Shoplift, Elevate, ABConvert or Convert to split traffic between the two.

Run it for full weeks and judge it on revenue per visitor, not conversion rate alone.

Which Shoplift competitor is cheapest?

As of November 2026, Elevate Basic and GemX Page Optimize both start at $49/month, and Intelligems starts at $69/month.

Final prices scale with orders or revenue, so check each pricing page against your store's numbers.

Is Shoplift pricing based on visitors?

Yes. Shoplift plans are capped by total monthly store visitors (50,000 on Core, 100,000 on Advanced, 250,000 on Pro), not just visitors in a test.

Tests pause if you go over until you upgrade or the cycle resets.
