For most Shopify stores, the best quiz app is RevenueHunt if you want a free or low-cost start, or Octane AI if you want deeper Klaviyo profiles and built-in quiz A/B testing and can pay $200 a month or more.
Typeform works as a quiz builder for Shopify only if you already pay for it and can live with mapping product variants by hand.
Whichever you pick, where the quiz sits on your site affects the result as much as the app does, according to the tests below.
What the product quiz tests show
LiftArchive holds more than 20 ecommerce tests where a product finder or recommendation quiz was the main change.
Nearly all of them are wins, which partly reflects what agencies choose to publish.
Still, they show a clear pattern: the gains came from putting a quiz where undecided shoppers already were.
- Kasper Dolk added a product finder quiz to a collection page and measured +€54,910 in revenue. A separate finder with emotional steps for high-AOV ranges brought +€89,567.
- Convertibles put a shade quiz promo at the top of a mobile menu for +$101,495 a month, and a need-based treat finder high on a homepage for +$17,813 a month.
- ConvertPolo tested a scent quiz on a perfume category page: +24% conversion rate.
- GrowthRock added a product quiz to a supplement homepage and got +8% revenue per visitor with a flat conversion rate. Quizzes can raise order value without raising orders, so track revenue per visitor, not just conversion.
None of these results say which app was used, so they don't prove one tool beats another.
They show what any quiz app has to support: placement on collection pages, menus and homepages, email capture, and a way to A/B test it.

Octane AI
Octane AI is a quiz platform built only for Shopify.
Its app store listing describes an AI builder that drafts questions, logic and results pages, product recommendations with explanations, image analysis for photo-based answers, and analytics that track revenue per answer.
Listed integrations include Klaviyo, Attentive, Shopify Flow, Gorgias, Postscript, Recharge and Tapcart.
Octane AI pricing
As of November 2026, Octane AI's pricing page lists three plans, each with a 14-day free trial and about 15% off for yearly billing:
- Basic: $50/month ($43/month yearly), limited to two quizzes, 400 credits a month.
- Plus: $200/month ($170/month yearly), unlimited quizzes, 2,200 credits, A/B testing and custom CSS.
- Enterprise & Unlimited: from $500/month ($425/month yearly), 7,250+ or unlimited credits, a dedicated account manager and strategy calls.
Credits pay for quiz engagements and AI usage, and the AI features use extra credits.
Unused credits roll over for 30 days. A busy store can run through 400 credits fast, so check your traffic before you choose Basic.
Where Octane AI falls short
The main downside is cost. Quiz A/B testing, the feature that lets you test quiz versions against each other, starts on the $200 plan.
Basic stores get two quizzes and a small credit allowance.
On the Shopify App Store it has a 4.7 rating from 210 reviews, against RevenueHunt's 4.9 from 463.
Not for: new stores with little traffic, stores off Shopify, or teams that only need one simple finder.
RevenueHunt
RevenueHunt (listed as "RH: Product Quiz Builder") is the budget pick.
The listing shows a drag-and-drop editor, conditional logic and custom scoring, custom HTML and CSS, multi-language and multi-currency support, and an AI chatbot that helps build quizzes.
It is Built for Shopify certified, has a 4.9 rating from 463 reviews, and says it is used by 20,000+ shops.
RevenueHunt pricing
As of November 2026, RevenueHunt's pricing page charges by monthly quiz responses, and every plan allows unlimited quizzes:
- Free: 100 responses a month, with logic, custom design and analytics.
- Basic: $39/month ($31 yearly) for 500 responses, plus GA4 and Meta Pixel, webhooks, Zapier, Klaviyo and Omnisend.
- Pro: $99/month ($79 yearly) for 1,000 responses, plus a dedicated account manager.
- Premium: $199/month ($159 yearly) for 2,500 responses.
- Enterprise: from $299/month, unlimited responses.
There is a 15-day free trial with unlimited responses and a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Where RevenueHunt falls short
The free plan is too small for real traffic: at 100 responses a month, it suits a soft launch, not a test.
Klaviyo, Meta Pixel and GA4 tracking all need a paid plan.
The pricing page doesn't list built-in A/B testing between quiz versions, so you would test placement with a separate tool.
Not for: brands that want AI-heavy personalization and an account team built into the base price.
Typeform + Shopify
Typeform is a general form builder, not a Shopify app, but it can work as a product recommendation quiz.
Typeform's help center explains how to send respondents to a prefilled Shopify cart: you build branching logic, then paste each product's variant ID into a cart link on each end screen.
That guide requires the Plus plan or above.
As of November 2026, Typeform's help center lists a free plan with 10 responses a month (logic included), and Typeform's pricing page lists Basic at $39/month with 100 responses, Plus at $79/month with 1,000 responses and no Typeform branding, and Business at $129/month with 10,000 responses plus drop-off and conversion tracking.
Where Typeform falls short
There's no live sync with your catalog. Each result is a hand-built link, so price, stock and variant changes don't flow through, and adding products means editing the form.
It suits stores with a handful of products or teams already using Typeform for surveys.
For a deeper look, see our Typeform review.
Not for: stores with large or fast-changing catalogs.
Quiz placement and offers
The tests suggest that once a quiz exists, the biggest gains come from making it easier to find.
Visually made the quiz link more prominent in TUSHY's menu for +27% desktop conversion rate.
Clickstop moved a product-finder help box above the fold for +86% purchases.
Blend Commerce added a sticky Pump Finder button on mobile collection pages for +69% conversion.
Offers and email gates are worth testing too.
Surefoot required an email to see Bike Finder results and got +49% email captures.
Visually changed a quiz button from "Next" to "Get 20% Off" for +24.8% conversions.
OptiMonk reported about 2x email sign-ups from a quiz popup with a 5% off opener, though that was a before-and-after comparison, not an A/B test.
Shorter can be better. Visually estimated a €820K+ uplift from removing an upsell step from a product finder.
If you want to add upsells, put them after the quiz, in the cart; see Shopify upsell apps.
To test placement yourself, you need a test tool alongside the quiz app (unless you're on Octane AI Plus and only testing quiz versions).
Our guide to Shopify A/B testing apps covers the options.
Pick by store
- New or small store, under a few hundred quiz takers a month: start with RevenueHunt Free, then move to Basic when you need Klaviyo and pixel tracking.
- Growing store on Klaviyo that wants to test quiz versions: Octane AI Plus, since that's where its A/B testing starts.
- Enterprise brand that wants help with quiz strategy: compare Octane AI Enterprise with RevenueHunt Pro or Premium, which both include an account manager.
- Five to ten products and an existing Typeform account: Typeform Plus with prefilled cart links.
- Lead-gen or multi-step funnel rather than a store finder: see quiz funnel builders.
Before you build anything, find out what shoppers get stuck on.
Exit surveys and support tickets will show the questions your quiz needs to answer.
Our customer research guide covers how to collect them, and our Shopify CRO guide shows where a quiz fits among other fixes.
All three quiz apps need a Shopify store.
