Value props, mobile thumbnails, sticky nav: +177% conversion (YoY)

WinnerBefore/after, not a split testProduct page · 2026

Conversion rate rose 177% year on year after Six Brothers Beef added value props near add to cart, square mobile image thumbnails and sticky desktop navigation.

Blend Commerce made these changes for the beef brand.

This was a before-and-after comparison, not an A/B test, so the changes can't be proven to have caused the lift.

Control

Before the changes, value props were weak near the buy button, the mobile gallery was hard to scan and desktop navigation disappeared on scroll.

Variant

Messages such as antibiotic- and hormone-free were placed by the buy area. Mobile thumbnails became square with a clear active state, and the desktop navigation became sticky.

Why it likely won

Our reading of the result, not the practitioner's claim.

  • Buying meat online needs trust. Showing sourcing claims next to the buy button answers the question of why to buy here.
  • Easier thumbnails let mobile shoppers inspect the product, which matters when they can't see it in person.
  • Much of the jump may come from outside the site: the agency itself says wider trading conditions played a part, and the Shopify channel was still young.

Caveats: This is a year-on-year before-and-after comparison, not a split test. Traffic was too low for A/B testing, and the agency notes that trading conditions also shaped the results.

How to run this test on your store

Hypothesis
If we place sourcing and quality claims beside add to cart, then conversion will rise because food shoppers get the reassurance they need at the point of decision.

Who should test it
Food and provenance-led brands where trust drives the sale. With low traffic like this store, ship the changes and watch trends; with enough traffic, A/B test the value props on their own to learn what actually works.

Questions

Can I trust a year-on-year before-and-after result?

Only loosely. Seasonality, marketing and market conditions all change between years, so a big jump may not come from the site changes.

What should I do if my store has too little traffic to A/B test?

Ship well-reasoned changes, then watch the trend over several months.

Treat the outcome as a signal, not proof.
