Listing cards gain ribbons, reviews and quick actions together

Simplified mockup drawn by LiftArchive from the shared screenshots.

Control

The mobile product listing page had no tags, no reviews and no quick actions on the product cards.

Variant

Cards gained "New In" and "Best Seller" ribbons and customer reviews. The page also added collection banners and prominent "Add to Cart" and "Quick View" buttons.

Why it likely won

Our reading of the result, not the practitioner's claim.

  • Quick add lets shoppers add items without opening the product page, which makes add-to-cart easier but doesn't always lead to purchase.
  • Ribbons help shoppers spot popular and new items fast.
  • Reviews on the cards add social proof before a click.

Caveats: Ribbons, reviews, banners and buttons all launched together, so the result can't be pinned on one element. No sample size, duration or significance was shared.

How to run this test on your store

Hypothesis
If we add popularity ribbons, reviews and quick add buttons to listing cards, then more shoppers will add items and buy, because they can judge and act on products without extra taps.
Primary metric
Revenue per visitor
Guardrails
  • Add-to-cart rate
  • Cart abandonment rate
  • Product page views
Who should test it
Mobile stores with simple products, such as apparel with few options. Quick add helps less where shoppers must pick sizes or customize, and it may raise add-to-cart more than sales.

Questions

Does quick add on collection pages help?

It can raise add-to-cart. Here a bundle including quick add lifted add-to-cart 22.16%, but revenue conversion rose only 4.51%.

Should product cards show reviews?

Star ratings on cards add social proof early.

Test them on their own to know their real effect.

Why did add-to-cart rise more than revenue?

Quick add makes adding easy, so some shoppers add items they don't buy.

Judge these tests on revenue, not add-to-cart alone.
