2x2 mobile collection grid with quick add: +$56,285/month
Showing mobile collection products in a 2x2 grid with a quick add to cart button added an estimated $56,285 in monthly revenue. Oliver Kenyon ran this test. Shoppers saw four products above the fold instead of one.
- About +$56,285 per month in revenue, as reported.
- About $675,420 per year, which is a forecast based on the monthly figure, not a measured result.
- Conversion rate and revenue per session both went up, but the exact percentages were not shared.
The change
One card per row becomes a 2x2 grid, and each card gets a quick add button.
Simplified mockup drawn by LiftArchive from the shared screenshots.
Control
On mobile, the collection page showed one large product card per row. Only a single product was visible above the fold, with no add to cart button on the card.
Variant
Product cards were made smaller and laid out two per row, so four showed above the fold. Each card got an "Add to cart now" button.
Why it likely won
Our reading of the result, not the practitioner's claim.
- seeing four products at once makes it easier to compare without scrolling up and down.
- a quick add button lets shoppers who already know what they want skip the product page.
- fewer scrolls before the first good option means less chance of leaving early.
Caveats: Two changes were tested together, so we can't say how much came from the grid and how much from the quick add button. Sample size, test length and the exact percentage lifts were not shared.

How to run this test on your store
- Hypothesis
- If we show mobile collection products in a 2x2 grid with a quick add button, then revenue per visitor will rise because shoppers can compare more items and buy faster.
- Primary metric
- Revenue per visitor
- Guardrails
- Average order value
- Return rate
- Product page views per session
- Who should test it
- Mobile-heavy stores with many simple products, such as one-size or low-variant items. It fits less well when products need size or colour choices, or when large images do the selling.
Questions
Should mobile collection pages show one or two products per row?
In this test, moving from one to two per row, so four products showed above the fold, was part of a winning change worth about $56k a month.
Does a quick add to cart button on product cards help?
It was tested together with the 2x2 grid here, and the combined change won. Its separate effect was not measured.
What should I measure in a collection grid test?
Oliver Kenyon tracked conversion rate and revenue per session. Also watch return rate if shoppers start buying without viewing product details.
