Adapty's pricing is simple: the Pro plan is free until your app tracks $5K in monthly revenue, then costs 1% of monthly tracked revenue, with custom Enterprise pricing above that (Adapty pricing, as of November 2026).
For most subscription apps that is worth it if you want subscriptions, a no-code paywall and onboarding builder, and A/B tests in one SDK.
It is a weaker fit if you only need one of those parts, or if you can't move to Adapty's newest SDK soon.
This review is based on Adapty's public pricing page and documentation.
We have not used Adapty ourselves. Where we talk about which paywall tests are worth running, we cite real results from our database, run by other teams on other tools.
What Adapty does
Adapty (adapty.io) is a subscription backend for mobile apps.
It validates App Store and Google Play purchases, keeps entitlements in sync across platforms, and reports revenue metrics like MRR, churn, ARPU and LTV.
On top of that sits a growth layer: a visual builder for paywalls and onboarding, A/B tests, user segments, and add-ons for refunds, email win-back and ads.
Its docs list SDKs for iOS, Android, React Native, Flutter, Unity, Kotlin Multiplatform and Capacitor, plus web payments through Stripe, Paddle and FunnelFox.
The pricing page lists integrations with AppsFlyer, Amplitude, Firebase, Meta and Apple Ads, among others.
That matters if you send subscription events back to ad networks for campaign tuning.
Adapty pricing
As of November 2026, Adapty's pricing page lists two plans and several paid add-ons.
| Plan or add-on | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pro | Free under $5K/month, then 1% of monthly tracked revenue | Includes the flow and paywall builder, A/B tests, analytics, SDKs and integrations |
| Enterprise | Custom | Dedicated Slack support, success manager, SLAs, US or EU data residency |
| Refund Saver | 0.2% of monthly revenue | Free up to $5K/month |
| Ads Manager | 3.5% of monthly ad spend | Free up to $5K/month |
| Adapty Mail | 20% of extra revenue | Email win-back campaigns |
| Attribution | Custom | Free up to $5K/month |
Two details in the pricing FAQ are easy to miss.
Revenue counts subscriptions, renewals and one-time purchases, measured in USD before Apple, Google or Stripe take their cut.
And billing starts once you pass $5K over a rolling 30 days.
Worked example
Say your app tracks $20,000 a month in gross revenue.
Adapty's fee is 1% of $20,000, or $200 a month.
If the store keeps 15% of each sale, your net is $17,000, so the fee is about 1.2% of what you actually receive.
Add Refund Saver and you pay another 0.2%, or $40 a month.
Whether that pays off depends on your refund volume, which only your own data can tell you.
For comparison, RevenueCat is free up to $2,500 in monthly tracked revenue, then 1%.
Superwall gives its subscription backend away free and charges 1% only on paywall-attributed revenue above $10,000 a month (both as of November 2026).
So Adapty's free tier is more generous than RevenueCat's, but at scale the core rate is the same.
The Adapty paywall builder and A/B tests
Adapty is in the middle of a builder change.
Its current tool is the Flow & Paywall Builder, which builds single-screen paywalls and multi-screen flows like onboarding quizzes in one editor (Adapty docs).
You can start from templates, import Figma frames, or use an AI editor.
The SDK renders flows natively, not in web views, and you can change copy, design and pricing without an app release.
The catch: flows need Adapty SDK v4.0 or later and their own placement.
The migration guide says that from October 1, 2026, you can't create new paywalls or onboardings in the legacy builders.
Existing ones keep working and stay editable, and a "Move to new builder" action converts an old paywall into a draft flow.
But the SDK upgrade is real developer work.
If you'd rather code your own paywall, Adapty supports custom paywalls too.
You still get its placements, products and test reporting.
How Adapty A/B tests work
Adapty's A/B test docs cover tests of prices, paywall design and copy, trial lengths, plan durations and onboarding.
A regular test runs on one placement. A crossplacement test shows the same variant to a user everywhere, which keeps pricing tests clean.
Results use Bayesian statistics: each variant gets a "probability to be best" and prediction intervals, and the docs mention 95% as a common decision threshold.
That is easier to read than p-values, but it still needs enough traffic.
Adapty also warns that if you don't log paywall views, conversion stats will be inaccurate.
What to test first
The tool matters less than the test you pick.
These results from our database were run on other platforms, mostly Superwall and RevenueCat, and are vendor-reported.
Each one maps to something Adapty's builder can change remotely.
- Remove distractions. Mojo saw +14% new subscription revenue after hiding credit packs from the paywall.
- Add a trial. Stardust got +131% paywall conversion by adding a 7-day trial.
- Change plan mix. Pixelcut saw +16% paying customers when testing a weekly plan against monthly.
- Anchor the annual price. Preu AI reported +80% proceeds per user and +22% trial conversion from an annual-plan anchor.
- Raise the price. BuyBye's 50% higher yearly price cut conversions 19% but lifted proceeds per user 25%. Watch revenue, not just conversion.
- Test onboarding as a flow. Rizz App saw +10% onboarding conversion and +10% trial conversion from a two-step trial toggle in onboarding.
Not every test wins. Stardust's yearly-only paywall lost on both conversion and proceeds per user.

Who Adapty fits, and who it doesn't
Good fit:
- Small apps under $5K a month that want a full stack for free, including paywall tests.
- Teams that want onboarding and the paywall built and tested as one flow, without a separate onboarding tool.
- Cross-platform apps on Flutter, React Native, Unity, Kotlin Multiplatform or Capacitor.
- Larger teams that need EU data residency or SLAs, via Enterprise.
Not a good fit:
- Apps that can't schedule an SDK v4 upgrade soon. New builder work now requires it.
- Teams that only want paywall testing on top of an existing backend. Superwall's attributed-revenue pricing can cost less there.
- High-revenue apps that dislike percentage pricing. 1% of gross revenue grows with you, and add-ons stack on top.
- Apps with little paywall traffic. Bayesian results still take a long time on small samples.
Other downsides to weigh: the builder change means older tutorials may describe the legacy tools, and fees are charged on revenue before store commissions.
Moving off any subscription backend later also takes migration work.
Adapty alternatives
| Tool | Free tier (as of November 2026) | Paid pricing | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adapty | Under $5K/month tracked revenue | 1% of tracked revenue | One SDK for subscriptions, flows and tests |
| RevenueCat | Under $2,500/month tracked revenue | 1% of tracked revenue | Teams that want the most widely used subscription backend |
| Superwall | Backend free; paywalls free under $10K/month attributed | 1% of paywall-attributed revenue | Teams focused on paywall testing |
RevenueCat's Pro plan includes its Paywalls and Experiments tools.
It also sells growth tools on their own at 1% of conversions they drive.
Read our RevenueCat review or the head-to-head Adapty vs RevenueCat.
Superwall only bills revenue that converts through a Superwall-rendered paywall, so subscriptions sold elsewhere aren't charged.
Many of the tests above ran on it.
