AppTweak Review: Pricing, Features and Alternatives

AppTweak pricing starts at $79 a month for its Essential ASO plan, then runs $299 (Grow) and $549 (Expand), with Enterprise quoted on request (AppTweak pricing, as of November 2026).

It's worth it if keyword search drives a real share of your installs and you'll actually use the keyword data.

A solo developer who only needs rank tracking can pay less elsewhere.

This review uses AppTweak's public pricing and feature pages.

We haven't tested the tool ourselves. Where store traffic leads into paywall results, we point to real experiments from our database.

What AppTweak does

AppTweak is an app store marketing platform. It's sold as five separate products: ASO Intelligence, Campaign Manager (for Apple Ads), App Reviews Manager, Market Intelligence and an API.

Most people mean the ASO product when they say "AppTweak."

It covers keyword research, rank tracking, competitor metadata, creative research and reporting for the App Store and Google Play.

AppTweak says its keyword database holds over 30 million keywords in 100+ countries.

What AppTweak doesn't do: it doesn't run your store listing tests, and it can't see past the install.

On iOS, the tests themselves run in App Store Connect through Apple's product page optimization.

That allows up to three treatments against your original page, one test at a time, for up to 90 days.

AppTweak helps you decide what to test and track what competitors change.

AppTweak pricing

All prices below come from AppTweak's pricing page as of November 2026. Annual billing gives you two months free.

Prices exclude VAT, which AppTweak charges to customers in the EU, UK and Japan who don't have a valid VAT number.

The other products are priced separately:

  • Campaign Manager (Apple Ads): a free read-only Monitor plan, plus a Manage plan that's free up to $25,000 in monthly ad spend. Above that, it charges 4% of the spend over $25,000.
  • App Reviews Manager: Medium costs $249/mo ($2,990/yr) for unlimited apps and 5 seats.
  • Market Intelligence: a free Starter plan with past-month download and revenue estimates. Explore costs $658/mo ($7,900/yr) for 12 months of data.
  • API: Lite costs $166/mo for 200K credits, Pro $249/mo for 500K, and Power $833/mo for 3M.

Read the fine print before you sign up.

To start the free trial you have to enter billing details, and the card is charged automatically when the trial ends.

You get one trial per product. The refund window is 48 hours after a charge.

Every self-serve ASO plan includes only one seat, so a team of three would need Enterprise or shared logins.

ASO and Apple Ads features

Keyword research (all plans)

Essential includes AppTweak's 12+ keyword research tools, its Chance and Difficulty scores, and volume history for both stores.

AppTweak says it pulls App Store volume from Apple every day and estimates Google Play volume with its own algorithm.

That makes Google Play numbers an estimate, not store data.

Essential also includes unlimited live keyword searches, a timeline of any app's metadata updates and A/B tests, competitor creative analysis, and an app page preview for drafting changes before you submit them.

Install attribution (Grow and up)

Grow adds the features that tie keywords to results.

Those are organic installs per keyword, brand vs. generic installs, a Keyword Impact view that compares downloads per keyword before and after a change, and a metadata simulator.

Keyword Impact only works in countries where Apple provides search popularity data, which are the countries where Apple Ads runs.

This is the tier where AppTweak stops being a research tool and starts measuring results.

If you're choosing between Essential and Grow, ask whether you need proof that a metadata change moved installs.

Creative intelligence (Expand)

Expand adds a creative library: Creative Explorer, a browser for Custom Product Pages and Custom Store Listings, localization insights and screenshot translation.

These help teams working on custom product pages or screenshot tests see what competitors run in each market.

Apple Ads

Campaign Manager offers bid automation rules, smart bidding to a target, Exact Match discovery experiments and MMP integrations with AppsFlyer, Adjust, Branch and Singular.

Pricing is per-spend, so small advertisers pay nothing.

One catch: the ASO plan's "Apple Ads Keyword Intelligence" feature, which shows competitors' paid keywords, is listed only under ASO Enterprise.

The Manage plan in Campaign Manager includes a similar Ad Intelligence feature.

Who AppTweak fits

AppTweak fits teams that get a real share of installs from search and that change metadata often enough to measure the effect.

It also suits Apple Ads advertisers under $25,000 a month, who get campaign automation at no cost.

Who it's not for:

  • Indie developers who just want rank tracking. Essential's 500 keywords cost more than lighter options, and the install attribution sits in the $299 tier.
  • Teams of more than one person on a self-serve budget, since every self-serve ASO plan has one seat.
  • Apps whose installs mostly come from paid social or the web. Keyword data won't move those numbers.
  • Anyone who expects an ASO tool to fix revenue. It brings people to the store page and stops there.

That last point matters for subscription apps. ASO decides how many people install.

The paywall and onboarding decide how many of them pay, and the gains there are often larger than anything metadata can deliver.

Here are a few results from our database.

Mojo saw +14% new subscription revenue when it hid credit packs and showed subscriptions only (vendor-reported by Superwall).

Stardust got +131% paywall conversion by adding a 7-day free trial to the yearly plan (also vendor-reported by Superwall).

Greg saw about +400% trial sign-ups after putting a paywall in onboarding for everyone, with sign-up-to-trial going from 3% to 15%.

Localization is a good example. AppTweak's Expand tier helps you localize store listings.

The same work after install also pays off.

Daily Horoscope reports a +183% trial start rate from paywalls localized by country (a bundled change, vendor-reported).

Photoroom saw +50% upsell screen conversion from localized upsell paywalls.

If your budget is tight, cover the post-install side first.

Browse our paywall tests and paywall tools, then add an ASO tool once search traffic justifies it.
