Sticky mobile CTA on partner sign-up page: +36% registration clicks
Adding a sticky call-to-action bar to Booking.com's mobile 'Join now' page for property owners raised clicks to start registration by 36%.
Booking.com's Partner Hub team ran this A/B test, and it was published as an AB Tasty / Wingify case study. The result led to a full rollout.
- Clicks to start registration on mobile: +36%.
- The team rolled out the sticky bar to all mobile visitors.
- The metric is clicks to start registration, not completed registrations or listed properties.
- Sample size, test length and confidence level were not shared.
The change
A sticky bar keeps the registration button visible while scrolling.
Simplified mockup drawn by LiftArchive from the shared screenshots.
Control
A long, content-heavy 'Join now' page on mobile, with the registration button only in fixed places on the page.
Variant
A sticky bar kept the registration button on screen as visitors scrolled through the page on mobile.
Why it likely won
Our reading of the result, not the practitioner's claim.
- On a long page, people read for a while and then lose track of where the button was. A sticky bar is always one tap away.
- Close to half of Partner Hub traffic is mobile, where scrolling back up to find a button is more effort.
- Property owners make the decision while reading, so the button needs to be there when they are ready.
Caveats: Measures clicks to start registration, not finished sign-ups. No sample, duration or significance was shared.

How to run this test on your site
- Hypothesis
- If we keep the sign-up button visible in a sticky bar on our long mobile landing page, then more visitors will start registration because they can act the moment they decide.
- Primary metric
- Clicks to start registration on mobile
- Guardrails
- Completed registrations
- Scroll depth
- Lead or partner quality
- Who should test it
- Lead-gen and B2B sign-up pages that are long and read mostly on phones. It adds little on short pages where the button is always in view.
Questions
Do sticky CTAs work on mobile landing pages?
On long pages they often do. Booking.com saw 36% more clicks to start registration after adding one to its mobile partner page.
Which button text works best for a sign-up page?
Test it. In separate tests on the same Partner Hub, 'Start registration' drove the most engagement and 'Sign up today' cut clicks by around 10%.
Is a rise in clicks enough to call a winner?
It's a good early sign, but check completed sign-ups too.
More clicks only matter if more people finish the form.
