The change
Product cards switch from one fixed image to swipeable multi-image galleries.
Simplified mockup drawn by LiftArchive from the shared screenshots.
Control
Each product card on the collection page showed one fixed image, with name, price and rating.
Variant
Each card held several images that shoppers could swap through by hover or tap. A small row of indicator dashes under the image showed more photos were available.
Why it likely won
Our reading of the result, not the practitioner's claim.
- seeing more angles on the card answers quick questions without a page load.
- fewer trips back and forth between collection and product pages keeps browsing smooth.
- shoppers who click through are better informed, so they may be more likely to buy.
Caveats: Sample size, test length and significance were not shared, and the dollar figures are forecasts.

How to run this test on your store
- Hypothesis
- If we let shoppers swap through product images on collection page cards, then revenue per session will rise because they can judge products without leaving the page.
- Primary metric
- Revenue per session
- Guardrails
- Collection page load time
- Product page click-through rate
- Return rate
- Who should test it
- Visual categories like apparel, footwear and home goods with several good photos per product. It matters less if products look the same from every angle or have only one image.
Questions
Should collection page product cards show multiple images?
In this test, swappable images on each card lifted revenue per session by $0.40. Shoppers could see more of the product before clicking.
How do shoppers know they can swap images?
The variant showed small dashes under each image to signal more photos, and images changed on hover or tap.
Will extra images slow the collection page?
They can. Lazy-load the extra images and watch page speed as a guardrail.
