Adding a clickable '4.9 from 300+ reviews' row under the price and a member review carousel below the button lifted conversion from 4.725% to 5.460% (+15.56%). Convertibles ran this test for an Australian whisky subscription brand. It was a rerun: an earlier version that also added tasting notes and a trust badge had lost.

## Result

**+15.6% conversion**

- Conversion rate: 4.725% to 5.460%, up 15.56%, with a 98% probability of being best.
- Revenue per visitor: A$7.20 to A$8.33, up 15.79% (93.2% probability to beat control).
- Average order value stayed flat (A$152.32 vs A$152.62), so the gain came from more orders, not bigger ones.
- Estimated extra revenue: about A$10,235 a month.

## Control

A standard product page with imagery, price, the subscription offer and the button. Member reviews sat far down the page, and no rating appeared near the price.

## Variant

A star rating row reading '4.9 from 300+ reviews' under the price, which scrolls to the reviews when tapped, and a 'What Our Members Say' review section just below the button.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- A strong rating next to the price answers 'is this worth it?' without leaving the buy area.
- Making the rating tappable links the claim straight to the reviews behind it.
- Member quotes below the button reach people who hesitate, and speak to joining a club, not just buying a bottle.
- Dropping the tasting notes and badge kept the page short, which the earlier loss suggested mattered.

## Caveats

The test ran from May 11 to July 2, 2026, with 15,615 visitors and 795 orders. The rating row and carousel shipped together, so their separate effects aren't known, and revenue figures are in Australian dollars.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show our rating summary under the price and real customer quotes below the button, then more visitors will buy because the proof sits where they make the decision.
- Primary metric: Conversion rate
- Guardrail: Revenue per visitor
- Guardrail: Average order value
- Guardrail: Subscription cancellation rate
- Who should test it: Brands with a high rating across many reviews whose product pages hide reviews low down. It won't help much if your rating is weak or thin, or if the price area already shows it.
