Changing the homepage hero headline from a vague benefit line to one that names the product category added an estimated $19,441 a month in revenue. Convertibles ran this A/B test in Intelligems for a 7-figure VR gunstock brand. The subhead and button stayed almost the same.

## Result

**+$19,441/month revenue**

- Monthly revenue: an estimated +$19,441 for the variant, as reported by the agency.
- The button copy stayed the same, so the gain came from the headline and supporting copy.
- No conversion rate, sample size or confidence figures were published.

## Control

The hero headline read 'Dominate the battlefield with speed & precision'. The words 'VR gunstock' appeared only in the smaller subhead.

## Variant

The headline became 'The best damn VR gunstock on the planet'. The benefit line moved below the banner as 'Master in seconds. Then dominate.'

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- Many visitors don't know what a VR gunstock is. Naming it in the headline tells them at once.
- People read headlines more than subheads, so the product name was finally seen.
- A bold claim signals confidence, and the rest of the page could back it up with reviews.
- The benefit message was not lost. It moved to supporting copy under the banner.

## Caveats

The agency reported the result as an estimated monthly revenue gain. Sample size, test length and confidence were not shared. The variant also tweaked the subhead and added a line below the banner, so it is not a pure headline change.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we name the product category in the hero headline, then more visitors will keep shopping because they understand what we sell straight away.
- Primary metric: Revenue per visitor
- Guardrail: Homepage bounce rate
- Guardrail: Hero click-through rate
- Guardrail: Conversion rate
- Who should test it: Stores selling a niche or unfamiliar product where a benefit headline could describe anything. Well-known brands or obvious products will likely gain less.
