Moving a 'Complete Your Routine' add-on module into the product-page purchase area lifted revenue per visitor by 4% across all devices for Stone Creek Coffee. Blend Commerce ran the test over two weeks in Intelligems. Desktop gained strongly, mobile lost, and the result did not reach statistical significance.

## Result

**+4% revenue per visitor**

- All devices: revenue per visitor +4%, conversion rate +7%, subscription orders per visitor +111%, average order value -3%.
- Desktop: conversion rate +26%, revenue per visitor +24%, add-to-cart rate +22%.
- Mobile, a negative result: conversion rate -5%, revenue per visitor -9%, average order value -4%.
- None of these reached statistical significance, so treat them as directional. Blend Commerce recommended a desktop-only rollout.

## Control

A recommendation module sat low on the product page and showed alternative coffees. Scrollmaps showed only 2.41% of mobile visitors reached it.

## Variant

A 'Complete Your Routine' module, powered by Rebuy AI, sat inside the right-hand purchase panel and suggested complementary items such as equipment. Quick-add opened the existing option picker.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- Showing add-ons where people are already deciding gets them seen. The old module was almost never reached on mobile.
- Complementary items such as gear fit a buyer who has already picked a coffee better than more coffees do.
- On a small screen, an extra module in the buy box may crowd the main choice and slow people down.
- The desktop gain came from more buyers, not bigger baskets, since desktop order value fell slightly.

## Caveats

The two-week test did not reach statistical significance, and sample size was not shared. Mobile results were negative, so the overall gain hides a split by device.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show complementary add-ons inside the product-page purchase area, then revenue per visitor will rise because more shoppers see relevant extras before they buy.
- Primary metric: Revenue per visitor, reported by device
- Guardrail: Mobile conversion rate
- Guardrail: Average order value
- Guardrail: Main product add-to-cart rate
- Who should test it: Stores with natural add-ons, such as coffee and brewing gear, and enough desktop traffic to measure. Segment by device from the start. If most of your traffic is mobile, test a lighter version for mobile.
