ŠKODA France added a countdown banner for a time-limited zero-interest loan offer, and test-drive bookings more than doubled compared with the week before. Rosapark, ŠKODA's digital marketing agency, built and ran the eight-day campaign, published as an AB Tasty / Wingify case study. This was a before-and-after comparison, not a split test, and it ran alongside a large media push for the same offer.

## Result

**test-drive bookings doubled**

- Test-drive bookings more than doubled versus the previous week. This is a week-over-week figure, not a controlled lift.
- 13% of that week's leads came straight from the banner, so it drove a real share of bookings.
- No exact booking counts, traffic numbers or confidence level were shared.

## Control

The homepage and car pages had no countdown. The comparison point is the previous week of traffic.

## Variant

A countdown banner showed how much time was left on the zero-interest loan offer. It had two buttons: 'learn more', which went to an offer landing page, and 'book a test-drive', which went to the booking page.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- A ticking clock turns a finance offer into an event, which gives people a reason to act now rather than later.
- The banner put a 'book a test-drive' button on every key page, so high-intent visitors had a shorter path to booking.
- Much of the jump likely came from the media campaign driving extra traffic for the same offer, which a before/after view can't separate out.

## Caveats

Before-and-after comparison over an eight-day campaign, not a split test. It ran during a big media push for the same offer, so the banner's own effect is unknown.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show a countdown banner with a booking button during a real, time-limited offer, then more visitors will book a test-drive or appointment because the deadline gives them a reason to act now.
- Primary metric: Test-drive (or appointment) bookings per visitor
- Guardrail: Booking show-up rate
- Guardrail: Lead quality or sales from booked leads
- Guardrail: Bounce rate on pages with the banner
- Who should test it: Lead-gen businesses with a genuine deadline, such as a finance offer or open-house event. Split traffic so half sees the banner during the same week. It won't fit if the deadline is fake or the offer runs all year.
