Placing a customer review about sound quality and performance high on the product page lifted conversion rate by 19.14% for music gear brand Singular Sound. Blend Commerce ran this 20-day A/B/C test. A second variant with a review about trust in the brand raised add-to-cart but lowered conversion by 7.38%.

## Result

**+19.14% conversion rate**

- Variant 1 conversion rate: +19.14%.
- Variant 1 revenue per visitor: +10.77%.
- Variant 1 average products per visitor: +27.27%, so shoppers bought more items.
- Variant 2 (brand review) lost: add-to-cart rose 23.68%, but conversion fell 7.38%.
- Both variants saw small rises in bounce rate. Exact figures were not shared.

## Control

The product page had no customer review in the upper section.

## Variant

Variant 1 placed a review praising sound quality and performance high on the page. Variant 2 placed a review about overall trust in the brand in the same spot.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- A review about the exact product answers the question a shopper has at that moment: will this work well for me?
- The agency picked the theme from review mining. Sound quality and performance were among the most common themes in positive reviews.
- A brand-level review may build enough interest to add to cart, but not enough confidence in the product to pay.

## Caveats

The test ran for 20 days. Significance level and sample size were not shared.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show a review about the product's key benefit high on the product page, then conversion will rise because shoppers get proof the product does what they need.
- Primary metric: Conversion rate
- Guardrail: Add-to-cart rate
- Guardrail: Bounce rate
- Guardrail: Revenue per visitor
- Who should test it: Stores selling products where performance matters and reviews mention specific benefits, like electronics or gear. If your reviews are mostly generic praise, mine them for a clear theme first.
