Changing the cart drawer recommendation heading from 'You May Also Like' to 'Rev up your cart' raised revenue per visitor by 40.37% for automotive parts brand PerTronix. Blend Commerce ran the A/B test in the brand's Rebuy Smart Cart. The result was close to, but did not reach, statistical significance.

## Result

**+40.37% RPV**

- Revenue per visitor: +40.37%. This is large for a heading change, so treat it with care.
- Average order value: +21.18%.
- Conversion rate: +12.91%.
- Not fully significant. Blend Commerce says results were approaching significance, and the version went live partly because it fits the brand tone.

## Control

The recommendation section in the cart drawer used the Rebuy Smart Cart default heading, 'You May Also Like'.

## Variant

The same recommendations ran under the heading 'Rev up your cart', written for car and engine enthusiasts.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- Default copy like 'You May Also Like' is easy to ignore because shoppers see it on many sites.
- Copy that speaks the customer's language can make add-ons feel like part of the hobby rather than a sales pitch.
- Part of the lift may be noise. A three-word change rarely moves revenue by 40%, so a retest would help.

## Caveats

The result did not reach full statistical significance, and Blend Commerce does not share sample size or test length.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we replace the default cart recommendation heading with copy in our customers' language, then more shoppers will add a recommended item because the section feels relevant instead of generic.
- Primary metric: Revenue per visitor
- Guardrail: Add-to-cart rate on cart recommendations
- Guardrail: Average order value
- Guardrail: Checkout conversion rate
- Who should test it: Stores with an enthusiast or niche audience and a cart upsell still on default copy. It is cheap to test, but expect a smaller effect, and run it long enough to reach significance.
