Adding a banner of payment icons and product test certification logos near the Add to Cart button lifted the Add to Cart click rate from 1.48% to 11.26%. Manna Natural Cosmetics, a Hungarian store selling handmade organic soaps, body butters and oils, ran the test and it was published as a VWO case study. A second version with certification logos only reached 8.73%.

## Result

**11.26% vs 1.48%**

- Add to Cart click rate: 1.48% on the control, 11.26% on variation 1 (certifications plus payment icons). Variation 1 was the overall winner.
- Variation 2 (certifications only) reached 8.73%. The source's headline figure of +490% refers to this version, not the winner.
- Both versions beat the control by a wide margin, which suggests the certification logos did most of the work and payment icons added more on top.
- The test measured clicks on Add to Cart, not completed orders or revenue.

## Control

The product page had no certification logos or payment icons anywhere near the Add to Cart button.

## Variant

Variation 1 added a large banner near Add to Cart with a row of well-known payment icons and three product test certification logos below it. Variation 2 showed two rows of certification logos and no payment icons.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- Manna is a small, lesser-known brand. Independent test certificates give shoppers proof of quality that the brand name alone could not.
- Familiar payment logos answer a second worry: whether it is safe to pay an unfamiliar store.
- Placing the reassurance right next to the button puts it in front of shoppers at the moment they decide.
- The very low control rate left a lot of room to improve, so part of the gap may be noise in a small sample.

## Caveats

Just over 3,000 visitors were split across three versions, and the control's 1.48% click rate is unusually low, so treat the size of the lift with care. Only Add to Cart clicks were reported, not sales.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show third-party quality certifications and familiar payment icons next to Add to Cart, then more visitors will click Add to Cart because they will trust both the product and the checkout.
- Primary metric: Add to Cart click rate on product pages
- Guardrail: Checkout completion rate
- Guardrail: Revenue per visitor
- Guardrail: Page load time on mobile
- Who should test it: Small or newer brands, especially in natural or health products, where shoppers doubt quality claims. Well-known brands with strong reputations will probably see much less.
