Adding star ratings under prices and small dark labels on product images lifted revenue by about $27,508 a month on a luxury pajama collection page. Convertibles ran this A/B/n test for an 8-figure luxury pajama brand and published it as a Convertibles case study. Ratings without labels, no labels at all, and a centre-aligned version of the winner all lost.

## Result

**+$27,508/mo**

- Monthly revenue: about +$27,508 for ratings plus small labels, as reported by the agency.
- Ratings alone, without labels, did not win, so stars by themselves were not enough here.
- Removing labels entirely did not win.
- The same winning design, centre-aligned, also lost. Sample size and confidence were not shared.

## Control

The pajama collection page showed a two-column grid of cards with image, name and price, at prices of roughly $158 to $228. There were no star ratings, and the existing product labels were easy to miss.

## Variant

The winning version added a star rating under each price and redesigned the labels as small dark badges on applicable product images. Two things changed together, so the lift belongs to the pair, not to either one alone.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- At premium prices, a rating next to the price may reassure shoppers before they click through.
- Clear labels, such as marking new prints, help repeat visitors spot what is fresh without scanning the whole grid.
- Trust from ratings and discovery from labels seem to have worked better together than either alone.
- Small, dark badges likely added information without crowding the product photos.

## Caveats

Ratings and the new label design changed together in the winner. Revenue is agency-reported, and sample size, duration and confidence were not shared.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we add star ratings under prices and clearer labels on product images on our collection page, then revenue will rise because shoppers get proof and a reason to click before visiting product pages.
- Primary metric: Revenue per visitor
- Guardrail: Collection-to-product click-through rate
- Guardrail: Add-to-cart rate
- Guardrail: Average order value
- Who should test it: Premium-priced fashion and lifestyle stores with frequent new releases and solid review coverage. If most products have few reviews, or you rarely launch new items, expect a smaller effect.
