Adding five image cards that link to key subcategories above the product grid lifted Gymreapers' women's category revenue by about $8,000 a day, or roughly $240K a month. Convertibles ran this A/B test for the gym apparel brand. The agency ties part of the gain to sending more paid traffic to the improved page, so it isn't a pure test effect.

## Result

**+$8,000/day**

- Category revenue: about +$8,000 per day, roughly $240K per month.
- Part of the gain came from the team sending more paid traffic to the page after the test, so the number isn't from the split test alone.
- No conversion rate, sample size or confidence level was shared.

## Control

The women's collection page had a header, breadcrumb, a sidebar of filters with many subcategories, a sort dropdown and the product grid.

## Variant

Five image cards sat above the grid for sports bras, outerwear, shorts, leggings and tops. Each had a lifestyle photo, a short description and a 'SHOP NOW' link. Filters and the grid stayed the same.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- A picture card is faster to grasp than a long list of filter names, which helps browsers who aren't sure what they want.
- The five cards covered the subcategories most visitors to a broad women's page are likely looking for.
- The short descriptions sell as well as guide, mentioning benefits before shoppers reach the subcategory.
- The cards were added on top of the existing filters, so shoppers who like filtering lost nothing.

## Caveats

The headline figure mixes the test result with later paid traffic sent to the page, as the agency says. Sample size, duration and confidence were not shared.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we add image cards linking to our top subcategories above the collection grid, then revenue per visitor will rise because browsers reach relevant products faster.
- Primary metric: Revenue per visitor on the collection page
- Guardrail: Click-through to products
- Guardrail: Bounce rate
- Guardrail: Filter usage
- Who should test it: Stores with broad, high-SKU collection pages where shoppers browse rather than search. On narrow collections that are already one product type, the cards add little.
