- Page type: Post-purchase (Ecommerce)

Adding a one-click upsell for more of the same clip after checkout gave Heroclip a 25 to 35% take rate and an extra $15,900 a month. Yev Marusenko of DigitalMarketer set it up, and it was published as a Zipify case study. This was an app rollout, not a split test.

## Result

**25-35% take rate**

- First upsell take rate: about 30% from day one, holding at 25 to 35% over time.
- Extra revenue: $15,900 a month, per the case study.
- Second upsell: 6% take rate. Downsell: 13% take rate.
- Visitor counts and the period measured were not shared.

## Control

After checkout, buyers landed on a standard thank-you page.

## Variant

Buyers saw a one-click offer for more of the clip they had just bought. A second upsell and a downsell were added later.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- People who buy a handy clip often want one for a partner or a second bag, so another unit is an easy add.
- One click with saved payment details makes saying yes nearly effortless.
- The offer was simple, with little page customization, so there was little to confuse buyers.

## Caveats

Before/after rollout with no control group, published by the app's maker. Site, ad and traffic changes happened around the same time.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show a one-click offer for more of the same product after checkout, then revenue per order will rise because satisfied buyers will add a second unit.
- Primary metric: Revenue per order
- Guardrail: Upsell take rate
- Guardrail: Refund rate
- Guardrail: Repeat purchase rate
- Who should test it: Stores selling giftable or multi-use items at a modest price. Products people only ever need one of, like a mattress, are a poor fit.
