- Outcome: Won

Cloudbeds replaced manual assignment of inbound demo requests with automatic routing and instant booking, and booked demos from inbound leads rose by 33-50%. Cloudbeds' marketing team made the change, and it was published as a Chili Piper customer story in May 2024. This is a before-and-after comparison, and only a range was shared.

## Result

**+33-50% booked demos**

- Booked demos from inbound leads: up 33-50%, as reported by Chili Piper.
- Matching that used to need a coordinator now happens in seconds, per the story.
- Only a range was given, with no baseline, lead volume or time period.
- No data on demo show rates or deal quality was shared.

## Control

A coordinator matched each inbound demo request by hand to one of more than 50 global sales reps, by language and region. That caused delays before a demo was booked.

## Variant

Form submissions were routed automatically to a rep by language, region and availability, and the prospect could book a demo straight away.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- Removing the wait between form and booking catches prospects while they are still interested.
- Routing by language means the prospect meets a rep they can talk to easily.
- Checking rep availability at the moment of booking avoids back-and-forth scheduling emails.

## Caveats

Before/after with only a 33-50% range and no baseline or time frame. Vendor-published.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we route demo requests automatically and let prospects book a slot right after the form, then more inbound leads will book demos because there is no delay or email back-and-forth.
- Primary metric: Share of demo form submissions that book a meeting
- Guardrail: Demo show rate
- Guardrail: Meeting-to-opportunity rate
- Guardrail: Rep workload balance
- Who should test it: B2B and lead-gen teams with a sales team large enough that manual lead assignment causes delays, especially across regions or languages. A single-rep team gains less from routing.
