- Outcome: Won

Moving a short note about bulk pricing from below the price calculator to above it lifted sales by 79.34%. Foliekniven.dk, a Danish maker of custom stickers and vinyl banners, ran this test on its own site, and it was published as a VWO case study. No other part of the page changed.

## Result

**+79% sales**

- Sales: +79.34% for the page with the note above the calculator.
- Only the placement changed, so the lift points to visitors now reading the pricing note.
- No sample size, duration or significance level was shared, so the size of the lift may not hold up.

## Control

The calculator page let visitors enter sticker dimensions and quantity to get a price. A description box below the calculator explained that the minimum order was one piece, and that ordering more lowered the unit price because pricing was based on total film area.

## Variant

The same description box was moved above the fold, ahead of the calculator. Nothing else on the page changed.

## Why it likely won (our reading)

- Visitors who see that bigger orders lower the unit price before they use the calculator may enter a larger quantity, or feel better about the price they get.
- Text below a tool is easy to miss. Most visitors interact with the calculator and never scroll past it.
- Explaining how pricing works up front can stop a high first quote from scaring people off.

## Caveats

No sample size, test length or significance was given, so the 79.34% figure is hard to judge. The result is vendor-reported.

## How to run this test

- Hypothesis: If we show how quantity affects unit price above the price calculator, then more visitors will order because they understand the pricing before they see a quote.
- Primary metric: Orders from the calculator page
- Guardrail: Average order value
- Guardrail: Units per order
- Who should test it: Custom or made-to-order shops with a price calculator or quote tool, especially where unit price drops with volume. It's less useful when prices are fixed per item.
